Individual Music Therapy

"About"

Music Therapy is the specialized use of music interventions to reach non-musical goals. Music Therapy sessions allow for a one-on-one experience between the therapist and the client in order to achieve specific, functional treatment goals. The therapist will determine a treatment plan with individualized goals based on a formal assessment of the individual. Our music therapists will utilize a variety of engaging musical interventions and experiences that are tailored to the strengths and needs of the individual in order to work toward specific treatment outcomes. Are you interested in seeing if music therapy would be an appropriate treatment option for you or your loved one? Book an Initial Evaluation Session with us.

FAQs

Got a question? We’re here to help.
  • What should we expect during the initial evaluation session?

Our focus as a company is to provide person-centered services that are tailored to the individual and unique needs of each client. With that in mind, we feel that it is important for families to get an idea of our therapeutic style prior to starting services, so we like to offer our potential clients an initial evaluation session. Our initial evaluation session lasts approximately 30 minutes, and it is a time for us to get to know your child, his/her needs/potential treatment goals, and interact through music so you can get an idea of our therapeutic style and process. Following the session, our music therapist will talk briefly with you for 10-15 minutes about their observations, possible treatment goals and next steps. If you'd like to move forward with our services following the evaluation, we can discuss availability and schedule you with one of our therapists based on that availability.

  • What is the cost for individual music therapy?

    • 30 min- $70
    • 45 min- $95
    • 60 min- $120
  • If you travel to us, is there an additional cost?

If we are providing individual services at a location in which we must travel to, we charge an additional $20 for travel time, gas and mileage. Price is subject to change based on circumstance.

  • Is music therapy covered by insurance?

Many insurance companies do NOT cover music therapy services. Therefore, our services are strictly private pay. We do not bill insurance companies directly, and we are considered an out-of-network provider for all insurance companies at this time. If requested, we can include a superbill on your monthly invoice for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement of services. In order to do so, we would need a prescription or referral for music therapy from a doctor. You may also be able to use your HSA cards to pay for services.
