About
Casey Ross is a board-certified music therapist residing in Northern Virginia. She is a Maryland native at heart but has lived in various locations along the East Coast as an adult. She graduated magna cum laude from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA, with a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree. Prior to attending Shenandoah, she studied psychology and music therapy for three years at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
Casey completed her internship at A Place to Be in Leesburg, VA, where she had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of folks. She led individual and group music therapy sessions at Inova Hospital’s inpatient behavioral health units and provided direct music therapy services at A Place to Be for individuals with neurodivergence, neurological symptoms, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Autism, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
While she has experience serving many communities and working in a variety of settings, her true passion lies in music therapy in mental health. She is dedicated to using her music therapy, and psychology knowledge plus her lived experience to offer meaningful support to individuals in need of mental health care. Outside of her professional life, Casey is a proud dog mom to her sweet pup, Maple. When she’s not leading music therapy sessions, she enjoys walking Maple on the many beautiful trails throughout Northern Virginia. Whether relaxing or adventuring, Casey finds peace and joy in spending time in nature.
